Stabilization of coloured distillery products
Main applications of of Technofilter products and processes in
producing coloured distillery products
?
Polishing (clarifying) filtration before filling to make the products brilliant
and transparent
?
Removal of residual opalescence and colloids
?
Increasing stable transparency of the products during storage
It
is common knowledge that distillery products containing juices and drinks made
from fruits and berries are complex colloid systems whose equilibrium can be
disrupted when external conditions are changed. Long-term observations have
shown that filtration through cardboard does not always produce drinks that are
stable for a long time.
Multi-stage
cartridge microfiltration using various filter media makes it possible to
significantly extend the period of stable transparency of the products.
Filter
cartridges and equipment for polishing filtration and stabilization of coloured
distillery products
For
stabilization of distillery products after pretreatment using filter presses,
we recommend to use a 2- or 3-stage filtration format with cartridge
microfilters before filling.
The
filtration format is selected depending on the type of the product, its
propensity to formation of hazes, capacity of the system and individual
requirements of the customer.
The
"prefilter-final membrane filter" combination improves the reliability of the
process, ensures the highest quality of the beverage, stable transparency
during storage, maximum capacity, long service life and cost-effectiveness of
the whole system.
The
filter media being used contribute to the preservation of organoleptic
properties of the beverage.

Equipment and accessories
KFM (КФМ) and KFV (КФВ) filter capsules
Designation
Intended for rapid and effective filtration of small volumes of liquids
and gases.
Capsule filters (KFM or KFV) make it possible to perform small-scale
pilot tests at early stages of development of filtration systems for the
purpose of selecting an optimum combinations of filters, especially for
processing hard-to-filter beverages, without investing in stainless steel
equipment.
The capsules are especially effective in critical applications, where
filtration of individual batches of products (one-off use) is needed.
Description
Capsules are ready-to-use inexpensive factory-assembled one-piece
filters that are designed as minicartridges soldered into polypropylene holders.
This design allows to use the capsules without installing steel holders.
Capsule filters have highly strong sealed polypropylene housings and
are available with various filter media in a broad pore size range. The
possibility of rinsing enables repeated use of capsule filters until capacity
of the whole filter surface is completely exhausted.
All Technofilter's filter elements can be produced in the form of
capsules.
Pilot systems
Multifunctional pilot systems for filtration
of small volumes of products and ingredients, for test filtrations and for
streamlining of various technologies.
Designation
The pilot systems are used in food industry in production of beverages
and intended for fine treatment of vodkas, wines, tinctures, liqueurs and other
alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
The systems can be used in industrial applications for filtration of
beverages (flow rates of 250 to 1000 l/hour) as well as for streamlining of
filtration technologies in laboratory conditions.
Advantages
? Small size and weight make it possible to use the systems even in
constrained conditions, easily move them from one room to another, connect them
to any tank.
? One-nest holders reduce filtration costs, make it possible to select
the optimum set of filter elements, carry out filtration of small volumes of
souvenir products or ingredients for main products (e.g., honey) as well as
reprocessing of spoiled products.
Configuration
UPF.R3 (УПФ.Р3) system is assembled on a frame and comprises:
? pumping unit (GRUNDFOS, Germany);
? filtration unit (three one-cartridge holders 250, 500 or 750 mm high,
made of 12Kh18N10T (12Х18Н10Т) stainless steel, complete with pressure gages);
? piping, stop valves, rotameter
Pilot systems for souvenir lines can be provided with control consoles
having automatic switch-off devices and frequency converters. Filtration systems
On customer's request, UPF.R (УПФ.Р) and UPF.A (УПФ.А) systems having
manual or automatic control are produced, that are designed for various flow
rates (0.5 to 16.0 m3/hour or more). Technofilter designs,
fabricates and assembles the systems in accordance with individual requirements
of the customer.
The systems are compact, mobile and easy to operate.
They can be installed permanently on a specific
position, on a frame or on a mobile carriage. The systems consist of several
filtration units, are completely assembled (pumping unit, measuring equipment,
stop valves, piping, etc) and are ready for operation.
"Absolute-quality"
automatically controlled systems
"Absolute-quality"
automatically controlled systems (UPF.A/УПФ.А) intended for final filtration
before filling enjoy special popularity with customers at distillery and
wine-making plants.
The
standard system is based on a 2-stage filtration concept. The systems can be
additionally provided with a filter unit for preparation of service media. The
systems vary in the set of components (selected options) and the degree of
automation. Everything depends on the beverage to be filtered and individual
requirements of the customer.
Advantages
?
Steadily high quality of beverages
?
Smooth start-up, maintenance of prescribed pressures at the input and output of
the system
? No
hydraulic blows
?
Optimum set of options, compact size
?
Full exhaustion of service life of filter elements
?
Touchpad for real-time control of all filtration parameters
?
Cleaning of filter elements with high-purity water or reconditioning with
washing solutions directly inside the system without using any extra pump
?
Removal of residual cognac with sterile compressed air
?
Reliable component parts
"Absolute-quality"
systems make the process of filtration extremely graphic, reliable and
cost-efficient for the customer. The user can have complete control over the
process of filtration and feel assured of the final product quality.
